Experiential and applied training and intervention for vulnerable children and families
Child to parent violence: A dynamic exploration
1 day course
This workshop was developed to try to deliver a clearer picture of the complex dynamics which are often at work in instances of child to parent violence.
The incredibly evocative nature of this issue makes it difficult for us to gain real insight into the mechanisms which are contributing to these escalations. Using a theatre technique called devising in conjunction with a psychodynamic basis for our considerations of the underlying dynamics and motivations, we explore common scenarios as stimulus, moment by moment and movement by movement to try to gain insight.
The course is centred around the exploration of the developing relationship over time and allows us to form a framework for thinking around these experiences with the end goal of developing some further possibilities for support for families who may be facing these kinds of challenges.
This course has been designed to be delivered at a professional level to fostering and adoption agencies.
